A few weeks ago, I announced I was building INKDRY — a mobile app designed to help writers stay consistent — in just 30 days. I’d mapped out the concept, sketched the wireframes, and committed to sharing the process publicly.
But right as I was getting started, my iCloud/desktop corrupted and crashed.
I lost every screenplay I’d ever written.
Years of creative work — gone in a blink.
It was one of the most devastating professional moments I’ve ever experienced. And while (spoiler alert) I did eventually recover the files — thanks to some very persistent calls to Apple and enough emotional endurance to raise Steve Jobs from the grave — the experience forced something bigger.
It made me stop. Breathe. Zoom out.
Because the truth is: INKDRY was never just an app.
The app was the spark — but what I’d really built was a system. A support structure for writers. A rhythm. A way forward.
